This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies may be used on San Blas Stay, what they do and how you can accept, reject or configure non-essential technologies.

What categories may be used?
Necessary cookies
Necessary or technical cookies are those required for basic website functions, security or for remembering a user’s cookie-consent choices. Where a cookie is strictly necessary for a service expressly requested by the user, it may not require consent.
The exact cookie name used to remember consent preferences will depend on the consent-management solution finally installed on San Blas Stay. Once that tool is configured, this page should be updated with the exact cookie name, provider and duration.
Google Analytics
San Blas Stay plans to use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website, for example which pages are visited and how users move through the site.
Our intended configuration is that Google Analytics will only be enabled after the user accepts the analytics category through the cookie consent system.

Google allows some cookie settings and retention behaviour to be configured, so the final implementation may use shorter periods than the default shown above.

Advertising and other measurement tools
San Blas Stay may later use Google Ads, Meta Pixel or other advertising and conversion-measurement tools. These services are not described as currently active cookies in this policy until they are actually configured.
Before any new non-essential advertising technology is activated, the cookie banner and this policy should be updated to identify the relevant provider, purpose, cookie or identifier, duration and any applicable international transfer information.
How consent will work
For non-essential cookies that require consent, the website consent layer should allow the user to make a genuine choice before those technologies are activated.
Accepting and rejecting non-essential cookies should be presented with comparable prominence and should not require the user to navigate to a different page merely to refuse them.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Where consent is the basis for a cookie or similar technology, you may withdraw that consent at any time. The website should provide an accessible way to reopen the cookie-settings panel after the initial choice.
Withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful, but the relevant optional technologies should stop being used for future activity once the preference has been updated.
Until the final consent manager is installed, no non-essential analytics or advertising tags should be intentionally activated on the public website.
Third parties and international transfers
Third-party analytics or advertising services may process information on their own systems and may involve access from or transfers to countries outside the European Economic Area.
Where the GDPR applies to such a transfer, the relevant provider should rely on a valid transfer mechanism such as an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another recognised safeguard.

Browser controls
Most browsers allow users to view, block or delete cookies from their own settings. Browser controls are useful as an additional privacy tool, although deleting cookies may also remove the record of a previously saved preference.
Browser-level blocking is separate from the consent choices offered directly on San Blas Stay.

This policy will be updated when the consent-management tool is installed or when analytics, advertising or other cookie-based technologies are added, removed or materially changed.
The cookie table must reflect the technologies actually used on the website rather than a generic list of possible cookies.
